Law 4 of the rules of the game of bowls requires that the top of the bank shall be a minimum of 230mm above the green surface which results in a large step which can make it difficult to get on and off the green easily and safely.
Sportsmark’s bowling green side access steps are the solution.
Two large step treads made from slip resistant aluminium checker plate measure 700mm wide x 320mm deep are combined with a sturdy galvanised steel frame and two sturdy stainless steel handrails (removeable for storage) to provide safe stable access to and from the green. The front step base has a 50mm wide plate which spreads the weight of the step evenly onto the green surface. These steps can ordered to accommodate ditch heights between 170mm and 320mm or 240mm to 320mm (from green surface to top of bank) please select the size you require from the drop down as this range is restricted before despatch. (We adjust the height of the rear legs prior to dispatch to allow for the highest bank heights).Both rear legs are also easily adjusted by up to 80mm using the large screw in feet to account for a wider range of bank heights.
The steps weigh 23kg each complete with handles. 16Kg with both handles removed.
We have load tested these steps with 300kg (47stone) of bagged sand without breakage to ensure they are more than up to the job! (see photos)
